Christmas Creativity: A Writing Workshop for the Holiday Season

Linda Oatman High, author of books for children, announces "Christmas Creativity," a holiday writing workshop, available from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve. Including High’s two Christmas books - "The Last Chimney of Christmas Eve" and "A Christmas Star" - along with her songs of the same titles, Linda Oatman High (decked out in Christmas costume) offers an exciting session that may be held day or night, school day or weekend. Using holiday writing prompts and games, along with glow-in-the-dark novelties, High sparks creativity with exercises such as "Reindeer Reporter," "Elf Email", "Christmas Candy Dance," "Snowman Songs for Santa," and "Creating Christmas."

Christmas lights and animated decorations add to the spirit of the workshop, which has received rave reviews from teachers and parents, students and librarians.

"It’s sometimes difficult to keep children focused during the holiday season, but not when they’re in Linda Oatman High’s workshop," said one teacher, delighted with the children’s excitement over writing.

Special guests, varying from an 1800’s chimney sweep to Santa Claus to a snowman, make occasional surprise appearances at High’s workshops.
