I wrote a few articles (none of which remain on-line) about my cousin's daughter Laurie Show. Laurie was brutally murdered by three teenagers in 1991, five days before Christmas and a few weeks short of her 17th birthday. The ringleader was Lisa Michelle Lambert, who stalked Laurie relentlessly for months before the murder. Lambert remains in jail, where I believe she should stay for all eternity. You can read about the case here.
Because of the efforts of Laurie's mother and father, Hazel & John Show, Pennsylvania now has a strong anti-stalking law. If anyone anywhere is being stalked or harassed, please take it seriously and call the authorities. Do it in Laurie's memory.
UPDATE!! Wednesday, June 1, 2005: From the Lancaster New Era, Lancaster, PA:
"JUSTICE HAS PREVAILED"
The U.S. Supreme Court announced on Tuesday, May 31, that it would not listen to further arguments on the case, marking the end of a dozen years of legal appeals by murderer Lisa Michelle Lambert. "Lisa Lambert will spend the rest of her life behind bars for the brutal and senseless killing of Laurie Show," said state Attorney General Tom Corbett.
May Hazel & John finally find comfort at the end of a long and harrowing road, and may Lisa Michelle Lambert and her co-conspirators live with their actions for the rest of their days. And Laurie, may she rest in peace with God and Grammy. Justice has prevailed.
